Over on Fools Rush In Grannie Annie sets us a meme to try, so here is my effort - and I hope you will also have a go!
1.] How come I can never find: A red pen when I want to do some sight checking (of Scripture in foreign languages) for Wycliffe Associates?
2.] I wish I'd never started: eating chocolate, because it's hard to stop or curb!
3.] I wonder why: it always rains on Wednesdays when my gardeners are due.
4.] Mama always told me: "No such word as 'can't'! If you want to do something badly enough, you'll find a way to do it!"
5.] There's this one thing in my closet that I just can't seem to get rid of: Old Connexional magazines that I always think may come in handy, but never do!
6.] My favorite guilty pleasure is: Eating chocolate.
7.] I always forget to: file all the papers straight after a meeting, with the result that every now and then I have to have a massive clear-up (and filing) of the papers piled high on my table(s).
8.] I have never: learned to swim.
9.] I'm obsessed with: getting the Under 30s more involved in the running of our church.
10.] One of my favorite memories is: stewarding for Easter People.

- I am 88 but I am very active in the Methodist Church in Caversham and Reading. My unmarried daughter, Sheila, is head of the English Department in a University in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, where we set up a charity, 'Edward Morgan Foundation', in memory of my late husband. My son, Tony, is a music lecturer in Nottingham University. He has his own choir (Ryton Chorale) and his own professional orchestra (English Pro Musica). He also has a world-wide business (Bass Bags) that sells all kinds of instrument cases. He and his wife, Caroline (who is also a music lecturer), have four adult 'children'. David helps with Bass Bags and has patented several of his inventions that have helped with quarrying, rail goods traffic and Heathrow's Terminal 5. Anna is married to Carl and they are house-parents at Old Swinford Hospital School in Stourbridge, with their two-year old daughter, Louisa and baby son, Toby James. After gaining his Master's Degree at UMIST, Richard is now doing teacher training at Cambridge University and Emily, after graduating at Durham University, works for the accountants KPMG in London.

Very enjoyable answers. I easily could have selected magazines because my husband and I both have stacks of our favorites. Oh yes, chocolate is also my vice. And, wishing some of the older members of the church would willing step aside to teach and share with the 30 somethings is a big deal as all churches begin their decline in membership.
I've thrown out some of the magazines today, but there are still drawers of them!
